Gospel Reflections on John 15:1-8 with Francesca Santelli

Francesca Santelli – Junior

In this week’s Gospel, we take a dive into seeing God’s divine love through the eyes of Jesus. “Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me.” This here shows us that we must stay faithful and trust in The Lord at all costs. To walk with him is to constantly take a leap of faith by saying “yes” to him. Without God, we struggle, we get lost, and most of all we steer in directions and actions that are not rooted in him,  so he is calling us to pick up our crosses and follow him.

To be a disciple of Christ is not easy, but also is an act of great love. To surrender your life to him, offer up prayers, live a wholesome life by serving others, loving others, it definitely is an uphill battle, but winning the hearts of our fellow brothers and sisters is worth every heartache, and tears shed. Lean on him when times are beautiful, difficult, and when you feel most broken. He yearns to be near you, to walk with you, and help guide you on this journey. When times become hard to openly love God and proclaim his love and Truth, don’t run away from him, run towards him for guidance and strength.
